Tolerance II

It is an accepted psychological axiom that only those who have hatred for themselves in their hearts project the hatred on the world. Such hatred is self-hatred, and comes out of an inability to accept one's own qualities. In the widest understanding of the word, tolerance implies that everything has a place in the universal hierarchy, and it is the understanding of this basic truth of creation that tolerance reveals. Tolerance thus reveals the correct perspective in the universal scheme of things.

Be Simple

In order to realize Him, we should adopt such methods through which we may be able to free ourselves from things created by our own will, actions and surroundings. All our thoughts should be regulated and our individual mind should be cleared of the burdens lying on it. We should be as light as cotton so that we may start our flight towards Him with the help of a single push from a capable master.

Acceptance

The first lesson of spirituality is that spirituality teaches us to perceive reality and accept reality. But the funny thing is that we must have a little of this quality of acceptance even before we look for spirituality or reality.

Guru As Mother

The conception of a guru as mother is, in my opinion, by far the most appropriate and advantageous to a disciple. A mother is the very embodiment of love and affection. Only a mother's heart can bear with patience all troubles and miseries caused to her by her son, thinking all the while of trying to provide for her son's comfort and happiness. The same is the position of the real Master or Guru, who is the spiritual mother of the disciple. As such, the guru is always on the lookout for the spiritual...

Tolerance

Need imposes tolerance. Tolerance doesn't grow when there is no need. It is need which makes tolerance grow, provided you are willing to accept that need and to grow with the situation [and] become tolerant.

Mind

Man is nature's instrument. He possesses immense power and has the implement required for the utilisation of that power. That wonderful implement is the mind, and it is exclusively the possession of man. Even God, who is thought to be the object of worship, does not have mind. Animals are however said to possess mind, but it is of a different nature. It is, so to say, in an inert state in comparison to man's mind, which is full of life and activity. The mind owes...

Hatred

Never allow hatred for anyone to develop in your heart. You may dislike a man's work, and this you have a right to correct. But you must never hate the person himself. A man and his work are two different things. If the hatred persists, please throw it out of your heart. Otherwise it will interfere with your progress.

Right Thinking

Sahaj Marg says thought is everything - not intelligence. Intelligence is an offshoot. When the thinking is right, when the application of thought is right, it is intelligence. When it is wrong, it is foolishness.

Obedience

There is a law which says that one who knows and does not obey is more punishable than the one who is ignorant and does not obey.

Ignorance

There is no real ignorance. Ignorance is only the inability to accept what is put before us as the truth. We call it prejudice. Remove prejudice, wisdom comes automatically.
