India Reflections

Fate Makers

Truly speaking, we ourselves are the makers of fate. When we do something by applying our head and heart, we form impressions thereof at the base, which remain there in seed form till they are washed off by the effect of bhogam (the process of undergoing the effects). The bhogam is thus essential and indispensable.

Thoughts

The tendency of the mind is that it ejects what it gets. That is why man feels the rush of thoughts all the time. Thoughts are like the dust which flies with the air but constructs no building because they have no power in them. When you give them power, they become strong like the mound of white ants.

Earn It

Remember, what you do not earn you cannot keep, whether it is respect, whether it is money, whether it is position, whether it is power, whether it is the grace of God Himself.

Civilization

Please remember, morality is nothing but right action; culture is nothing but following right values; civilization is the combination of the two.

Going Home

It is like a son wanting to get back home again. When that enormous longing in the heart comes, that I wish to be home again, he rushes back. And the mother meets him. She doesn’t think of his dirtiness, his dust, his slushy shoes or sneakers. She hugs him. So spirituality says that is how you will be welcomed. Forget your grossness.

Courage

Courage can come only where there is faith. If I have to live in a world today full of pestilence and wars and tsunamis, I must have courage. And courage is based on what? On the faith that He is with me.

Patience

Patience comes out of faith. If you have faith, you know it must happen when it must happen – and you have but to wait. We should not shout for things. We should not demand. We should not even expect. This is the call of patience. As I repeat again: patience comes out of faith. Who has no faith has no patience.

Here and NowII

Past and future have no meaning for us. We are here and now. If you want it here and now, you must act here and now. To act here and now, you must throw off all prejudices now, in this instant in time, have faith and courage, and go ahead.

Forgive Yourself

Spirituality teaches you another great moral lesson: charity begins at home. This means you must be charitable to yourself. Nobody can forgive you if you are unable to forgive yourself.

My Universe

Spirituality says, change yourself, and your universe is for you a different universe. My universe is what I see, what I perceive, what I live with, and if in it, by changing myself I find there is harmony, there is peace, there is contentment, my universe is a lovely, wonderful universe.
