When someone asks me "how are you" I have always replied "well". This was my reply whether I was having a good day or bad, I was always 'well'. Before coming to Yoga Awareness, this was the extent of using the root word of 'wellness'.
It now has a whole new meaning to me. WELLNESS has become a life style for my family and me.
I see wellness as being pro-active about your health. Being healthy is a gift. This gift needs to be cherished !
Wellness is about having a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Ted is always reminding me that we polish the mind through the body, so practicing yoga helps me to keep a clear, and focused mind. When I have a life challenge, I go to a yoga class; it's amazing how clear my mind is afterwards, and I am able to see the path I need to take.
Ayurveda helps to keep the body balanced. If I am experiencing an ache or pain, I schedule an ayurvedic treatment; this helps to alleviate any imbalances within my body. Having a clear mind, and balanced body boost my spirits and I am able to be the best I can be for my family and myself.
