The trip started out auspiciously with the Dalai Lama joining us on the flight from Newark NJ to Frankfurt, Germany. I noticed his holiness and his entourage at the gate boarding first and thought FANTASTIC - I just got a tiny glimpse of the Dalai Lama.

Then I wished that I had my camera to take a picture - now he'll be squirreled away to a 1st class exclusive private section of the plane. But.... surprise, surprise or not... he was seated in 'Business class' and I was able to stop and shake his hand and take a picture. TOKYO COMES TO MAUI ~ YOKO NAGASHIMA

I have been studying Yoga with Ted since 2004. I learned so many things from Ted through Yoga and Ayurveda. When I am facing difficulties or when I suffer from pains, I always use Yoga to heal myself. Ted told us that if you didn't know how to drive a vehicle, you would have accidents even when the vehicle was beautiful and well made. IT WAS A TURTLE, NOT A SURFBOARD SKEG (FIN) !

Last Sunday evening when I was paddling out on a 4 - 5 foot day at Ho'okipa, Maui I dove into a cresting wave and slashed my head open on what I thought was a surfboard skeg (fin). But I couldn't figure out why there where no surfers to call out to and with a big set coming in I knew instinctively that I had to turn and catch the first wave back to the beach, then straight to ER for staples and stitches.
