Angelika Dickeson Yoga Awareness TeacherWhen I decided to join the 2009 Sadhana Training my main reason was to build a personal practice and enjoy the calming and meditative aspects of Yoga.

During the module 1 (Kriya) training I experienced some major physical hurdles. Old injuries, protected for decades with false movement patterns, were opened up. I had severe pain in my lower back and with the tools of Yoga therapy and Ayurveda heat treatments I was able to continue the Training. This gave me the inspiration and willingness to do a regular practice at home and in class. I am now pain free !

During the module 2 (Ashtanga) training this was no longer an issue for me. I found the peace and comfort in my body that allowed me to take the next step in creating clarity in my mind. Studying the Sutra-s of Patanjali helped me observe my thoughts, how they determine my life and created patterns that I never closely looked at before. This study helped me redefine my concepts and bring more awareness into my every day life. I started to make more conscious choices.

During module 3 (Samkhya) training I was realizing the results of this awareness. I was so impressed with this 2000 year old teaching of Patanjali. He clearly described in the Yoga Sutra-s what is truly important in life, giving simple tools that everybody can  so easily apply ~ right here and now. I can say from the depth of my heart that this Sadhana training changed my life immensely. I then became so excited and determined to share these teachings with others.

KRIYA 2 WEEK TRAINING (JUN 26 - JUL 09, 2011)
The Yoga Awareness KRIYA training is to develop 'right action and attitude' in your yoga practice. We study and practice from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Kriya Yoga comprises of three parts: ‘Tapas’ ~ healthy actions, ‘Svadhyaya’ ~ verification of our actions and ‘Isvarapranidhana’ ~ acceptance of our actions.

SADHANA 6 WEEK / 1 YEAR TRAINING (JUN 26 - AUG 06, 2011)
The Yoga Awareness SADHANA training is broken down into 3 modules, each 2 weeks long: Beginning with the Kriya Yoga Training, moving to the Ashtanga Yoga Training and finishing with Samkhya Yoga Training. On completion of the 3 modules training you will then be required to complete a daily personal practice at home for 12 months.

Become ISYA certified by Yoga Awareness and register with Yoga Alliance (RYT) for the 200 hour and 500 hour certification.
