IT'S LIFE TRANSFORMING ON MAUI

Sylvia Whelchel ~ 2008 Yoga Awareness Sadhana Graduate"This experience has been transformational for me ! It's Life Training ! Self Development skills to live life, have healthy positive relationships at home, work and in the world. After each day of training I felt at peace within myself. I would recommend this training to anyone who is looking for inner peace and self realization ! Ted Surman truly brings the Yoga and Ayurveda training directly from the source of Krishnamacharya. I am now certified to teach Yoga and I feel confident and completely qualified to share what I learned during the training. I'm teaching what I know, what I've experienced and I'm teaching at the highest standard." from Sylvia Whelchel

SURFING HO'OKIPA POINT BREAK

Ted Surman ~ Surfing Yoga Teacher at Ho'okipa, MauiLook what happened to our Surfing Yoga Teacher!

Last Sunday evening Ted was paddling out on a 4 - 5 foot day at Ho'okipa, Maui. He dove into a cresting wave and slashed his head open on a surfboard skeg, the surfer in front of him must have stopped once he had got over the wave. Thankfully, he stayed conscious and was able to paddle back to shore where a couple of guys on the beach gave up their surfing session to take Ted home to Kuau Bay, then his neighbor Joe drove him to the emergency room . . . read more

The staff and doctors at the Maui Memorial Hospital were fantastic and the turn around time was only an hour and fifteen minutes (they like to deal with the head injuries first). Ted had a deep long slash from the back of his head to the front, and received 16 staples and 3 stitches. After a good night sleep (no drugs) Ted was comfortable to teach the Monday morning class (no chanting, forward bends or pranayama though) and then worked all day.

A few days later . . . " It's my first major surfing injury since I started surfing at the age of 12. But I feel fantastic ! The Yoga and Ayurveda really helps the healing process, I'm recovering quickly. Maybe now I'm enlightened and have attained moksha (liberation). It's amazing what one has to do nowadays to get on Facebook and in the Yoga Awareness newsletter. Plus I had all kinds of comments about my funny hat. I'm sure there must be better ways to get known and enlightened."

Thank you Ted, and be careful out on those waves !!
Aloha, Laura Taliaferro
